Salary: £24.32 per hour
3 days in office (2 must include Tuesday and Wednesday)
2 days remote/from home
We have a full-time position covering maternity leave for Social Workers in Learning Disability Team, which specialises on working with adults who have Profound and Multiple Learning and Autism.
The role is hybrid with fixed office days of Tuesdays and Wednesdays with the third day being flexible and other two days of the week can be worked remotely/from home if desired.
The office base is at The Civic Centre in central Brixton.
Main Purpose of Post
To promote positive change in people�s lives by using social work methods, models and tools, with the aims of helping them to be as independent as possible and to manage risks of abuse and neglect
To make professional judgements in the context of the relevant legal and policy frameworks
To work with people to carry out assessments of their needs for care and support, to plan how those needs will be met, to support them with putting those plans in to action, and review those plans and reassess needs
To carry out adult safeguarding enquiries, support the work of others involved in these enquiries, and to support people with care and support needs to develop and put in to action safeguarding plans appropriate to their wishes and circumstances
Key Knowledge
K1 Knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and other statutory instruments, policies, procedures and issues relevant to adult social care.
K2 Knowledge of social work theories and values, and how to apply these in practice.
Thorough understanding of issues relating to people with care and support needs and their carers
Relevant Experience
E1 Experience of undertaking assessments of adults with care and support needs, developing care and support plans, identifying risks, and monitoring outcomes
Experience of undertaking safeguarding adults enquiries.
Experience of assessing mental capacity and making best interests decisions, in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
PO1: Sucessful completion of the ASYE programme
PO2: Extensive experience of successfully holding more complex cases.
This will mean those at PO1 level will be building their experiences and skills toward this level.
PO3: Extensive experience of successfully managing the most complex and challenging cases.
This will mean those at PO2 level will be building their experiences and skills toward this level.
Qualification
Professional qualification in social work and must be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (or any successor body)
