Start Date: Immediate Start
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Salary: £20.67

Job Purpose:
• In conjunction with the Principal Manager you will organise, lead, motivate and supervise a number of staff across the Care Home.
• You will work closely with health colleagues and key stakeholders to develop Millbrow as a teaching care home and centre of excellence.
• You will perform the duties of the Registered Manager for Care Home, to ensure services are operated and compliant with the Care Quality Commission minimum standards.
• To assist in the coordination, performance and promotion of prevention and health and social care services in Halton and to contribute to the directorate and corporate development agenda.
• To assist the Principal Manager in the organisation & development of the delivery of services to vulnerable adults, within the intermediate care services by supervising, supporting and advising the teams.
• To contribute to the management, delivery and operation of a range of measurably high-quality, cost-effective services to meet individual needs.
• To perform the duties of the Registered Manager for the Reablement Service and Residential services, as required by the CQC’s minimum standards for registered services.

Education & Qualifications:
Essential:
DipSW / CQSW / DipCOT/ RGN / RMN / or equivalent qualification as appropriate, and progressed.

Desirable:
• Post Qualifying professional qualification
• Registered Managers (Adults) NVQ level 4 or evidence of the equivalent QCF Credit Value or equivalent qualification

Experience:
Essential:
• Proven experience of working in a supervisory role within a relevant area of health / social services
• Post qualification experience within
• Staff and / or student supervision
• Organising and writing rotas
• Experience / awareness of Adult Protection procedures.
• Care management experience with health / social services

Desirable:
• Performance management and monitoring.
• Budget monitoring.
• Using Information Technology
• Background in home management

Skills / Knowledge:
Essential:
• The supervisory process and performance management
• Clear and effective communication
• Knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Deprivation of Liberty ( DoLS),
• Knowledge of a person-centred and asset-based approach to care
• Assessment of risk and the development of effective risk management plans
• Experience of change management
• Working as a team member
• Detailed understanding of the relevant professional / practice issues relating to the service area
• Detailed understanding of wider health & social care provision

Desirable:
• Understanding of key issues in strategic planning
• Understanding of Human Resource issues including the management of poor performance

Essential:
• A proven team player who has experience of building a team and has the ability to lead and motivate staff
• Flexible approaches
• Ability to work co-operatively with colleagues from all disciplines
• Able to demonstrate anti-oppressive practice and a willingness to challenge discrimination

Desirable:
• Recognition of the value of the multi-disciplinary team approach and the importance of each role in the team

Other Requirements:
Essential:
• Ability to travel throughout the borough and wider.
• Willingness to work outside normal hours if required, including regular weekend cover
