The ‘One Children’s Service Transformation Programme’ is seeking to deliver stability, improvement and confidence in transforming our Children’s Services Directorate. This is a high priority programme, mandated by the Corporate Management Team, and connected to the ‘A Bright Future Strategy’ where there is a vision that Children and Young People in Plymouth grow up healthy and happy, safe and able to aspire and achieve; living in resilient families and communities, able to take advantage of a broad range of opportunities.
The ‘One Children’s Service Transformation Programme’ has 8 large-scale projects set out to deliver
– service improvements (improving the performance and quality of our Children’s Social Care, SEND and Vulnerable Learners services)
– service assurance (reducing demand and managing the costs of children in care placements, home to school transport and special education placements)
– service modernisation (developing new organisational structures, processes and digital practices)
We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and aspirational individual to join the programme team as a Project and Programme Support Officer. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about Children’s Services, be involved in project delivery and support the Council on an exciting journey of improving some of our most important services for children and young people.
The successful applicant will provide programme administration support in the management of meetings, project and programme action tracking, developing project documentation, supporting finance tasks e.g. invoicing and overall management of key project and programme logs e.g. risks, issues, dependencies etc.
This is a 37 hour role, 5 days per week.
This is a hybrid role 50% home working 50% office based so would ideally seek a local candidate
No parking is provided at the office site but there is a car park near by
Essential experience
Experience of providing project and programme or Business Support.
Experience of planning and organising meetings including preparing
agendas/report packs and completing minutes and follow up actions.
Experience of using Microsoft Computer Software Packages including MS
Project and Excel.
Use of standard systems, tools and process frameworks.
Experience of using initiative in solving problems with more senior officers.
Essential skills Excellent and adaptable IT skills.
