To carry out the professional responsibilities of a specialist teacher overseeing primary 6th day provision within the Inclusion Service. Under the guidance of the professional lead, play a role in planning and delivering effective support for CYP who have been permanently excluded from school or received multiple suspensions, developing the skills of the workforce in supporting these pupils, quality assuring the effectiveness of education, support and intervention, line management and supervision of the specialist practitioners.
Knowledge and Experience
• Detailed understanding of SEND and in particular SEMH and Autism
• Knowledge of Early Years / Pre-School
• Knowledge of Statutory Assessment procedures/Code of Practice
• Knowledge of mainstream School curriculum
• Up to date inclusive practice in the education of children with SEMH and Autism
• Knowledge of the importance of trauma informed practice and SEMH strategies.
• Knowledge of statutory requirements of the SEND Code of Practice, exclusions, and suspensions and IYFA.
• Can demonstrate significant experience of assessment and monitoring of SEND.
• Can demonstrate extensive experience of working in an educational context with children and young people with SEND including SEMH and/or autism
• Can demonstrate experience of working with families of children and young people with SEND
