About the job As a Social Worker within a dedicated reviewing team, your role will involve working with adults with lifelong disabilities, including physical and learning disability and autism. You will be responsible for supporting the local authority deliver its Adult Social Care Strategy by undertaking quality, strengths-based Care Act Reviews. You will be required to work at pace, and to consider a whole person approach to reviews, not just the services a person receives, but one that recognises peoples’ strengths, taking into account the wider support network and assets. Workers will be encouraged to explore creative approaches to managing personal budgets, that do not rely on funded services. Reviews will be targeted where the authority has determined the best opportunities lie to deliver alternative means of support and achieve savings. You will be expected to work within organisational, policy and legislative requirements. Reviews will need to be in person where required, although the authority is adopting new ways of working which means SWs will not be required to be on site every day. It is expected however SWs will be required to spend approximately (and a minimum of) 2 days per week present in West Sussex (either completing face to face visits or being on site), the other 3 days can be worked at home. We would be happy to see applications for SWs who can work a minimum of 3 days a week.
