Job title: Street Scene Operative (Driver) – Manual Labour
Job location: Swale and Maidstone Borough Council
Hours per week: 7.5
start date: Immediate start
Salary: £11.53 per hour

PURPOSE OF JOB
To carry out the clearance of fly tipping, flyposting, dead animals and other responsive requests. To drive street cleansing vehicles and carry out any cleansing work as directed by the Street Scene Supervisor.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

Use of mobile technology to identify and complete responsive requests from the public.
Clearance of fly tipping, flyposting, dead animals, and other responsive requests
Reporting and removing fly tipping, flyposting and dead animals which are identified during the completion of duties.
To cover weekend cleansing priorities as part of rota, including cleansing of Town Centre and removal of fly tipping across the Borough
Reporting cleansing standard before and after work carried out.
Reporting of graffiti identified during the completion of duties.
Work with the Environmental Enforcement Team to ensure evidence is captured and intelligence is shared.
Report any accidents and near-misses which are identified during working day.
Carry out Health and Safety checks on vehicle and dynamic risk assessments of work to be carried out.
Report any vehicle defects to supervisor and in defect book.
Complete drivers working hours logbook.
To cover, when required, for other drivers including mobile teams and inspection-based teams.

Education, Training and Knowledge
Full UK Clean Driving License

Experience
Experience of working as part of a team
Experience of working in a service delivery environment or equivalent with good customer service skills
A commitment to a high standard of service delivery.
Experience in using mobile technology solutions to report issues and to complete work requests
The role requires good levels of personal fitness and the ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
