Role Purpose:
To provide day to day manual service delivery within Operational Services.
As a member of the council’s team, contribute to the achievement of the Council’s corporate vision, behaviours and priorities and the development of the Council’s positive high performing culture

• To help with serving meals, making salads and sandwiches, wash dishes and clear the kitchen after the service.
• To take on the Meals at Home duties during the MAH cook’s annual leave or other absences. Similarly take on the duties of cook’s assistant when Senior Cook is away.
• Use large industrial oven in order to cook the frozen ready meals for Meals at Home service. Also Safely use the allocated walk in freezer for storage and stock keeping and stock control.
• Lifting boxes of ready-made frozen meals from the freezer and out of the ovens 25%. Pushing trollies stacked with boxes of meals from the freezer to the kitchen 25%. Standing and walking around the kitchen in order to prepare food, serve food and clear the equipment 50%.
• When carrying out the Meals at Home cook’s duties, follow written instructions in the form of food orders from the MAH office. To keep an accurate record of numbers of meals produced and the remaining stock. To keep a daily record of temperatures and other food hygiene issues. When acting as Cook’s assistant, keep an accurate food hygiene and H&S records.
• 5% level and frequency of exposure to verbal abuse, aggression or anti-social behaviour by clients with mild dementia or learning difficulties.
