Salary: £14.98

JOB PURPOSE

Under the general supervision of the Registered Home Manager, attend to the personal needs of clients in accordance with individual care plans. These duties will include physical and emotional caring, aiming at creating a supportive homely atmosphere where clients can achieve maximum independence.
In addition, to maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness within the Home.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To assist Individuals in meeting all aspects of their care needs.
2. To observe, report and document any changes to the Individuals condition.
3. To prepare, maintain and update individual Individuals care plans.
4. To assist and observe Individuals to ensure nutritional needs are met.
5. To provide comfort for Individuals in distress and support relatives.
6. To support participation in Activities, Physical Exercises prescribed by Physiotherapists and other professional bodies
7. To assist in general laundry and cleaning duties within all areas of the Home.
8. To report any Health and Safety concerns/faults to the Person in Charge.
9. To attend mandatory training and any training identified as relevant to your role by the Registered Manager.
10. To carry out all work in accordance with Care Inspectorate Wales and Pembrokeshire County Council policies and procedures and the Care Council Code of Conduct.
11. To attend staff meetings within the Home.
12. To follow the Homes dress code including appropriate footwear and be responsible for maintaining a high standard of personal hygiene at all times.
13. To be prepared to take on a Duty Officer role, after experience and appropriate training has been achieved.
14. To attend bimonthly supervisions with Senior Care/Registered Manager and Personal Development Reviews yearly with the Registered Manager.
15. To support therapy lead services promoting individuals independence with activities of Daily living.
16. To complete any further duties the Registered Manager deems necessary.
17. To maintain Confidentiality and Data Protection Regulation at all times.

PERSON SPECIFICATON

1. NVQ 2/ QCF diploma level 2 in Health and Social Care.
2. Registered with Social Care Wales
3. Previous experience working within a care environment.
4. An understanding and respect for elderly people with varying dependency levels.
5. Good communication skills both written and oral also an ability to speak Welsh would be an advantage.
6. Must be able to work days and nights with a flexible approach in times of need within the Home.
A full clean driving licence desirable – not essential.
