Describe in a few brief sentences:
1. Waste Environmental Enforcement Team
2. Enforce the Environmental Protection Act 1990 mainly under section 33 (fly tipping), section 34 (Duty of Care), section 46/47 (presentation of waste)
3. A self-motivated, lone worker with Enforcement experience and a drive to achieve and exceed targets. Experience in serving fixed penalty notices, liaising with various stakeholders and a team player is important for this position.
4. Advance knowledge of Excel spreadsheet and PowerPoint presentation
5. Able to write professional letters to Councillors, residents with good command of English on a daily basis.
6. Able to work 35hrs five-day week including Saturdays

Main purpose of post:
• To carry out environmental enforcement activity across the borough including (but not limited to), fly-tipping, littering, dog fouling, unlicensed street trading, commercial waste enforcement, enforcement of Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPO).
• The post-holder will be required to utilise the relevant statutory provisions to respond to a wide range of offending behaviour; working closely with other teams within Community Safety and the council in order to achieve the council’s objectives. The post holder will also be required to deliver planned activity outside of normal office hours (21 hours per month).
Professional Qualifications:
• A degree level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline and evidence of continuing professional development, or experience (one year) and evidence of professional development where no degree is held.
• The post holder must hold a full, manual UK driving licence, with no more than six points. This must be maintained throughout employment.
Key Knowledge:
• Knowledge of the current environmental crime related issues in London and knowledge of the relevant legislative framework.
Relevant Experience:
• At least one year experience in a similar front-line environmental enforcement, Consumer Protection or regulatory enforcement role.
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of the relevant provisions outlined within the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, and the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
• Sound working knowledge of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act, Criminal Procedure & Investigations Act 1996 and the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000.
• Provide response to Members Enquiries, complaints, warning letters. The use of Excel Spreadsheet.
• Demonstrable experience of working with partners across voluntary, statutory, community and business sectors.
