Early Help Worker:
Early Help Workers based and work agilely in Family Wellbeing Centre’s  and people’s homes across Sefton.
The successful candidates will form part of a multi-disciplinary team, be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and families, act as a single point of contact and coordinate a holistic temporary offer of early help and intervention support with their cases.

You are expected to have procedural and practical knowledge of Early Help Services and experience of working with children and young people 0-19.
This will include experience in one or more of the following:
• Family Wellbeing Hubs or Children Centre’s
• Working with children 0-19years, at home, community or school environments
• Supporting young people with mental health and wellbeing needs
• Supporting school attendance and achievement
• Working with young people and adolescence
• Supporting children and young people with SEND/ASC
• You will have knowledge of safeguarding and be an advocate for strength-based approaches underpinned by an awareness of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s) and trauma informed practice.

Experience:
1. Experience of delivering support to individuals and families in one or more of the service areas within the localities model
2. Experience of developing family action plans based on assessment
3. Experience of identifying levels of risk, vulnerability and needs
4. Practical experience of supporting resident’s independence
5. Experience of using IT systems to maintain accurate records and management data

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
1. Practical and procedural knowledge of delivering support to individuals and families. Procedural and policy knowledge relative to assessments, case management and safeguarding
2. Ability to manage casework and utilise case management methodologies
3. Ability to assess and deliver activity within the early help offer as the lead professional
4. Ability to demonstrate a high level of empathy across a range of users, be non- judgemental and build trust
5. Ability to challenge children, families and individuals and intervene as necessary
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a person/family centred approach
7. A broad knowledge of safeguarding procedures and when to implement the escalation policy
8. An ability to develop a good working relationship with colleagues and partners to deliver a co-ordinated response
9. A good working knowledge of the activities provided across the delivery points
10. An ability to advise, guide, negotiate and influence children, families and individuals in terms of delivering appropriate levels of care.
11. An awareness of external scrutiny practices and inspection regimes and how such practices influence service delivery.
