Fencers required for working in tenanted properties
Main Responsibilities:
1. Sets metal or wooden post in upright position in posthole.
2. Inserts metal tubing through rail supports.
3. Attaches fencing to frame.
4. Nails pointed slats to rails to construct picket fence.
5. Mixes and pours concrete around base of post or tamps soil into posthole to embed post.
6. Blasts rock formations with dynamite to facilitate digging of postholes.
7. Welds metal parts together, using portable gas welding equipment.
8. Cuts metal tubing, using pipe cutter.
9. Lays out fence line, using tape measure and marks position for postholes.
10. Aligns posts, using line or by sighting, and verifies vertical alignment of posts with plumb bob or spirits level.

Fencer
Knowledge and Experience:
• Must possess working knowledge of fencing materials, methods and tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings or other structures.
• Must be able to use maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, twist or reach out with your body arms, and/or legs.
• Must be able to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
• Must possess a working knowledge of site safety and how it affects working practices in relationship to yourself and other persons.
• Awareness of working to promote equality of access to a service within a diverse community.
Skills and Abilities
• Awareness of Health & Safety.
• Ability to carry out repair work in other trades.
• Literacy/Numerate – able to complete timesheets and basic forms and reports.
• Ability to ensure protection of tenants’ property.
• Able to consistently produce work to an acceptable quality standard and output level.
