“The Market Management Service was established to ensure that Enfield’s private rented sector (PRS) meets resident’s needs. The aim of the Market Management is operationalised by the provision of a range of PRS interventions and initiatives including emergency and temporary accommodation and PRS Housing Services, including procurement, allocation, and management services.
The Housing Standards Team ensure that all temporary accommodation (TA) in the PRS meet the required standard and compliance, is used efficiently and effectively and is maintained and repaired to the required standards. The Housing Standards Team work in partnership with the Housing Solutions Team and Homelessness Caseworkers to proactively address tenancy issues in nightly paid TA, such as under/over/non-occupation, rent arrears, ASB, hoarding, disrepair, etc and ensure that applicants comply with their agreement.

The role
We are aiming to recruit a Housing Standards Officer with the ability to drive who has access to their own vehicle to carry out planned and reactive, ad hoc inspections as required. You will work to conflicting deadlines and be able to manage time and resources efficiently.
You must have significant knowledge and experience of delivering PRS housing standards, such as the HHSRS, Gas/Electricity/EPC Compliance, Licensing, HMO Management & Regulation, and so on.
You will possess significant knowledge and experience of the management of temporary accommodation and PRS Housing schemes within a local authority housing and/or homelessness service and implementing Safeguarding, Social Care and Equality legislation and caselaw policy strategies.
You will have experience of using housing and homelessness IT systems and be able to ensure that all inspection and compliance data is accurately and timely recorded on IT and data systems. ”
Must hold a Full UK Driving Licence and have access to your own vehicle.
