We require an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Community Safety Team. This role is an exciting opportunity to join a creative and dynamic team to develop community cohesion across the Vale of Glamorgan. As well as being the single point of contact for cohesion for community members the post holder will influence policy and strategies to ensure that cohesion is effectively embedded throughout the Vale.
Job Specific

  1. To support the development of a programme of activities to promote social integration between different communities in Vale of Glamorgan, with the Community Safety Manager and key stakeholders.
  2. To support the delivery and regular review of a Citizen Engagement Strategy
  3. To engage local services, schools and communities to meet the key outcomes as detailed in the Citizen Engagement Strategy.
  4. To assist in the development and co-ordination of activities to promote cohesion in Cardiff, with a focus on supporting social contact between new and established, intergenerational and geographic communities.
  5. Co-ordinate and deliver group sessions for Vale of Glamorgan residents on themed topics to help promote understanding and positive relationships between different groups in the local authority area.
  6. To work within a multi-agency framework, communicating effectively with colleagues, other professionals and clients ensuring there is a co-ordinated response to supporting communities. This may include attending conferences and strategy meetings and writing any required reports.
  7. To adhere to monitoring and performance requirements complying with systems in place to record data and outcomes.
  8. Adhere to both service and Council policies and procedures regarding working practices and service delivery. This will include safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, health and safety, data protection/confidentiality and our code of conduct.
  9. Any other responsibilities allocated which are appropriate to the grade of the post.
