We are looking for both day and night workers to be placed on a rota to cover shifts across our children’s homes in Cardiff.
They will be 8 – 12-hour shifts on a rota. The rotas are organised weekly to meet the demand of the individual homes.
The right candidates need to have a driving license and be registered with Social Care Wales as a Residential Childcare Officer.
We will need to be provided with the full working history of each candidate and also need references to confirm there are no safeguarding issues or concerns.
Experience of working with young people is desirable.
Full training is provided as part of a comprehensive induction programme.

In addition to making a positive impact on the lives of our children, there are generous enhancements paid for evenings, weekend working, Bank Holidays and sleeping in duties, additional to your salary. You will receive an additional salary enhancement of 30% after 8pm weekdays, 50% weekends and £40.80 per sleep in.
Ensuring the right staff are matched to the right child or young person is at the forefront of the services we deliver. You would have one stable base but from time to time your skills and approach may be better suited to working in one of our other homes. Our homes are all close together and would not involve unreasonable travel considerations.

Waking Night-
As a Residential Childcare Officer, you will play an essential part in providing direct care and effective support to young people in our short break home to enable them to achieve positive outcomes in line with their childcare personal plan. Every day is different, and you will face new challenges, we need staff members with a can-do attitude, that are willing to go above and beyond for the young people in their care. We need our team to help recognise and promote young people’s individuality, uniqueness and diverse needs whilst providing a nurturing and positive environment.
