You will lead and support on the day-to-day operational activities and tasks, in relation to predominantly recruiting permanent and locum staff for Children and Adult Social Care Services as well as other ‘hard to fill’ posts, therefore high-level coordination skills are essential.
You will be responsible for the effective management and delivery of the recruitment process ensuring procedures are followed in a timely and efficient manner. This will involve placing adverts, arranging interviews, liaising with the relevant hiring manager and teams to ensure the smooth running of recruitment campaigns, responding to applicants and candidates, and keeping accurate and up to date reports where data is reported on at a high level (for example at Recruitment and Retention Board).
This role involves high level communication with hiring managers and multiple recruitment / contractual agencies, therefore being able to explain complex rules or processes in a way that customers and colleagues can understand is highly desirable for this level role.
Building relationships is a critical skill and behaviour required for this role, therefore we are looking for someone who takes time to explore and understand other people’s perspective and needs.
The ideal candidate will look for opportunities to work in different ways to create efficiencies where possible and will be able to take on challenging objectives with commitment and enthusiasm! We are looking for someone who can think ahead, spot problems and take action to resolve them or alerts the right colleagues.
The Recruitment and Retention Officer is a fast-paced role with multiple conflicting deadlines. Although the role is fast paced, it is also a job of many rewards and management support!
We ask candidates apply with proven recruitment experience in any setting. This role may also be ideal for those with a strong administrative background within a social care setting.
Strong IT skills in Outlook and Excel are essential for this role. Experience of using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and locum recruitment systems (such as Matrix) is also highly desirable.
