Due to internal promotions and movement within Wiltshire Council, we are looking for Experienced Occupational Therapists to join our Reablement Service, to work in partnership with our own in-house provider service in the community.

About the service

The Reablement Service is led by Occupational Therapy Managers and benefits from support from our principal occupational therapist. The occupational therapy role is highly valued and the team establishment includes newly qualified occupational therapists, assistants, and occupational therapy apprentices. The service works with Bournemouth University and UWE to support students’ training.

About the role

Reablement at Wiltshire Council offers Occupational Therapists a unique opportunity to work in a team managed by an Occupational Therapist and in a Service that values the role and offers carer progression through support, training and career coaching.

You will support people in a mixed caseload who are returning from Hospital or experiencing a change in their abilities in the community with the autonomy to manage your own time and schedule.

About You

You must hold a professional qualification in Occupational Therapy (or pending) with 2 years post qualification experience and hold a valid full UK drivers’ licence.

Some relevant professional experience post qualification in a similar work environment.
Expert knowledge of relevant policy, systems, work practices, professional guidelines, legislation in the area of specialism.
Excellent ICT skills including use of Microsoft applications and specialist systems.
Experience of multi-disciplinary and partnership working and awareness of the issues involved.
Planning and workload management skills.
Proven assessment and investigation skills appropriate to the scope of the role. Ability to carry out complex client assessments.
Experience of using professional knowledge to work within referral systems according to established criteria.
Proven ability to work with challenging client groups and situations.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proven ability to deliver training.
Accurate record keeping and report writing.
Good presentational skills.
Knowledge of financial assessment processes.
