Job Title Description:
We are transforming our Market Management Service to reshape the private rented sector to ensure it meets residents housing needs. The Market Management Service oversee the procurement and management of temporary accommodation and private rented housing, including over 3000 temporary accommodation homes and approximately 600 private rented homes. The new Market Management Service contains four teams:
• Market Shaping – to intervene into the private rented sector to improve supply and standards
• Housing Access – to coordinate access to temporary accommodation and private rented housing
• Housing Solutions – to provide a comprehensive leased temporary accommodation service combining housing options advice and housing management
• Private Rented Housing – to provide a commercially-focused, social letting service that will deliver decent, sustainable private rented homes. Housing Solutions Manager We are recruiting a Private Rented Housing Manager to lead the development of Private Rented Housing Team. We want ambitious, proactive people who can find creative and innovative solutions to local problems and are keen to challenge yourself in one of the most demanding roles in homelessness in London to develop your career ambitions. You will have a passion for customer service with a substantial track record of successfully managing homelessness services. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong IT skills and be able to work autonomously and inclusively in a team.

• Have a detailed knowledge of housing legislation, regulation, caselaw and best practice
• Be able to design and implement new services and initiatives
• Be an excellent manager of both people and task
• Be able to work effectively with colleagues across the Council

• have high expectations and standards for both yourself and for your service and be able to deliver them in practice.

8. As a regular and intrinsic part of this role required you to speak to members of the public in English, the ability to converse at ease, politely and courteously with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential and consistent with the requirements of this role.

9. Significant knowledge and experience of delivering excellent customer service within a local authority housing and/or homelessness service
10. Significant knowledge and experience of working in partnership to improve outcomes for private rented housing residents and their households
11. Significant knowledge and experience of the management of privately rented housing
12. Significant knowledge and experience of the implementation of the statutory homelessness framework (Legislation,
Suitability Order, Caselaw), including assessments, prevention, relief and main duties, TA duties and accommodation offers
13. Significant knowledge and experience of the implementation of national and local welfare services, such as Universal Credit, LHA, DHP, local welfare assistance programmes
14. Significant knowledge and experience of the implementation of the PRS housing standards, such as HHSRS Gas/Electricity Compliance, EPC, Licensing, HMOs Management & Regulations, and so on.
