Salary: £272.67 per day

The post holder will spend approximately 50% of their time working with the Principal Surveyor to deliver a programme of asset valuations in line with IFRS and will need to be able to demonstrate experience of valuing a wide variety of commercial and residential properties. The post holder will also work with the Principal Surveyor to provide professional services to the Council’s Estate Regeneration and Housing Supply Service; providing valuation advice ranging from commercial Landlord and Tenant through to strategic advice on management of new commercial space within development schemes. This is an interesting and varied job which would suit an MRICS with good experience of carrying out valuations and who is seeking to broaden their professional experience.
⦁ Manage all of the Council’s Commercial and VCS properties within a defined area of Hackney, and be responsible for all Commercial Estates issues that arise in that area.
⦁ Carry out rent reviews, lease renewals and lettings and deal with all matters that arise in respect of the Commercial and VCS properties in your area.
⦁ Carry out asset valuations in line with IFRS requirements, and for a range of other purposes including Right to Buy valuations, and valuations required in respect of property disposals and acquisitions.
⦁ Manage a variety of property related projects, carry out options appraisals and feasibility studies as required, and prepare briefing notes and Cabinet reports.
⦁ Be a key member of cross-service working parties and provide professional support and guidance in respect of various programmes such as the Estate Regeneration programme.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Qualified Chartered Surveyor (MRICS or FRICS).
2. Demonstrable ability to manage a portfolio of properties and provide high quality valuations, appraisals, and other professional property related advice.
3. Strong commercial landlord and tenant knowledge and experience.
4. Proven project management skills.
5. Excellent ICT skills and able to use a variety of software packages.
6. Proficient in word processing.
