The Emergency Duty Team are currently looking to secure interim cover for its out of hours service which runs in partnership for children, adults, mental health and homelessness across St Helens and Halton. The worker will need to be a qualified social worker with a minimum of 3 years experience in either children, adults safeguarding or both. An additional requirement would be for a qualified AMPH to undertake AMPH assessments. You will be working within the EDT team and will ne working on a rota basis of out of hours and you will be supported by an experienced EDT manager.
Knowledge
Knowledge and understanding of the 1989 and 2004Children Act.
Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding issues and supportive documentation.
An understanding of anti oppressive practice and advocacy issues for young people and their families.
Knowledge of child development and the impact of adverse experiences on development.
An understanding of the concept of working in partnership with families.
Appreciation of Child Care Legislation.
Understanding of the Mental Health Act 1983, the Mental Health Act 2007 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
Knowledge of Appropriate Adult duties under PACE.
Knowledge of Fair Access to Care Process.
Knowledge of Carers Legislation and Community Care Legislation
Skills and Abilities
Ability to work in partnership with families and other professionals.
Ability to work with children in need and families under stress.
Ability to communicate effectively with children, their families and other professionals.
Ability to work with vulnerable adults.
Ability to work with a range of individuals and families in crisis situations.
Ability to write concise reports and records reflecting pertinent information of analysis drawn from a clear evidence base.
Experience
Experience working with young people, in either a statutory or voluntary capacity.
Experience of working within a mental health setting
Experience of working with other professionals in a formal setting.
Minimum of three years post-qualifying experience, and evidence of progression, beyond SCP31 AMPH.
Assessment experience
Experience of Safeguarding.
Experience of appropriate adult work.
Experience of Health and Social Care
Qualifications
CQSW, CSS, DipSW or equivalent
HCPC registration
Approved Mental Health Practitioner
