Team Leader, Safeguarding Team
36 hours a week (5 days), 3 days a week in the office minimum.
Parking available.
London Pledge applies.

– Directly managing a team of 4/5 workers.
– Responsible for all direct management, professional and case supervision.
– Chairing strategy meetings, authorising reports etc.
– Managing performance of sub-team and formally reporting every Monday on this.
– Managing duty for a week (1 in every 5 weeks).

The team holds Child in Need, Child Protection and Care Proceedings until final order.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Educated to a degree level with a relevant professional qualification in social work.
• Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field i.e. social work, leadership and management.
• Active Social Work England registration and proven evidence of continuing professional
• Development

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Significant social work practice and experience of working on safeguarding cases, some of which are complex, including preparing for and presenting evidence in court.
• Experience of managing case workers who deliver social work with children, young people and their parents/families with safeguarding issues.
• Experience of permanency planning and supporting practitioners to ensure thorough and thoughtful care planning for children.
• Experience of managing people, performance and professional development to get the best out of the team.
• Strong experience of positivity engaging with vulnerable and high risk children, young people and families and of developing and implementing effective interventions in order to achieve sustainable outcomes.
• Strong experience of working within an integrated working environment, with a range of
• Multi-agency providers in the context of the team around the child/family.
• Experience of effective recording, monitoring, evaluation and quality assurance of interventions within case work practice using a wide range of tools and Management Information Systems.
• Strong awareness of risk management and safeguarding in the context of social care including legislation, policy and procedures related to responsibilities.
• Knowledge of equality and a desire to work with others to promote diversity and to challenge anti discriminatory actions or practice.
